Understanding Your Award Letter

Entrance and Exit Counseling

Direct Loan Entrance Counseling: Before your school disburses your federal Loan (subsidized or unsubsidized), regulations require that you complete an entrance counseling session. The counseling session provides information about how to manage your student loans, both during and after college.

Direct Loan Exit Counseling: If you are graduating, withdrawing, taking a leave of absence, or fall below half-time enrollment status, you must complete an exit seminar that will counsel you on your rights and responsibilities as a borrower of federal Stafford loans. Graduating students must complete this seminar in order to receive their diploma.

TEACH Grant Entrance Counseling: Federal regulations require us to advise you regarding your rights and responsibilities as a recipient of the TEACH Grant. Before you can receive grant funding, you must complete this each academic year you’re offered the grant.

TEACH Grant Agreement to Serve: Students who have accepted their TEACH Grant are required to complete an Agreement to Serve. Before you can receive grant funding, you must complete this each academic year you’re offered the grant.

TEACH Grant Exit Counseling: If you are graduating or withdrawing from Keuka College, you must complete an exit seminar that will counsel you on your rights and responsibilities as a recipient of the Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant. Please note: this seminar is different from federal direct loan exit counseling. Graduating students must complete this seminar in order to receive their diploma.
